What to Wear & Bring

Please review this guide so you stay warm, dry, and ready for our outdoor session.

Warm Layers
Waterproofs
Waterproof Boots
Sandwich for Lunch

Walking warms your body, but foraging involves many stationary stops to examine species. Wear warm, adaptable layers.

Pack a good waterproof jacket or coat—just in case! Weather in the woods can change quickly.

Sturdy waterproof boots or wellies are essential for navigating damp leaf litter, mud, and uneven forest soil.

Bring a packed sandwich to keep your energy high during our mid-day break in the woods.

Gluten-Free Bread
Wicker Basket
Foraging Staff
Forager's Knife

If you are gluten-free, bring a slice of bread for the edible wild mushroom fry-up at the end of the course.

Bring a wicker basket if you have one. Don't worry if you don't—I always bring a few spares for the group.

Optional: A walking staff is helpful for stability on rough terrain and gently parting underbrush.

Optional: Bring your preferred small foraging knife if you own one, suitable for clean mushroom stems.
