About Forest Horizons
Forest Horizons is Col & Sadie, and we offer foraging experiences throughout the year. While they conduct forages in winter and summer, spring and autumn are particularly special, with autumn being the peak season for mushrooms. Foraging is a delightful activity that not only connects us with our ancestors but also enriches our understanding of nature. It's a fascinating and rewarding pursuit that teaches us about diverse habitats and the intricate web of life that surrounds us. As we engage with the natural world, we come to appreciate its magic through our senses. Sharing this passion for wild food foraging is truly fulfilling, and once you try it, you may find it becomes an addictive hobby! Just a word of caution: you might soon be carrying a basket full of foraged treasures!

Col is also known as the Naked Forager due to his book, The Naked Foragers. In 2022 me, Col, conservation biologist Sadie, Macclesfield's' Naked Neil and classical musician Hannah teamed up to become the first people to cycle naked from John O Groats to Lands End. They were raising money for Rewilding Britain and MIND; nature connections and mental health, two intertwined and vitally important things. Following on from that Col ran a 12 month project which saw forages and photoshoots up and down the country to produce a novelty charity fundraising calendar, The Naked Foraging Calendar. The book documents the calendar story.
Col & Sadie are happy to be naked, they are comfortable in their skin.
Are they naked on their forages? Only if it is designated as a naturist forage (most of them aren't).
Is anyone expected to get their kit off on a forage? Absolutely not! No one should ever feel pressure to do anything they are not comfortable doing.
